Jay B. Laming-Davies MBII
Landlord, Licenced Victualler, Publican & Custodian of Sir John Falstaff
Since 1670 there have been many landlords of the Sir John Falstaff; now it’s Jay. As the custodian, it’s Jay’s job to ensure the present and future of the Sir John Falstaff is safe. As such, Jay holds many legal accountabilities under multiple UK Acts including: the Licensing Act 2003, the Gambling Act 2005, and the Weights and Measures Act 1985 to name a few. His focus is around making sure he provides the best and safest possible service to customers.
Jay was born in Beckenham, Kent. He grew up in South-East London. He started his bar work in a working man’s club, before working in two golf clubs as well as managing two pubs in South-East London. He spent over 20 years working for HM Government before becoming the custodian of the Sir John Falstaff.
And he is as boring as this bio suggests!
James R. Laming-Davies
Publican, Personal Licence Holder
James is part of the Governors team at the Sir John Falstaff. As a personal licence holder, he has delegated authority to ensure the best and safest environment possible at the Sir John Falstaff.
He was born in Gravesend, Kent and grew up there before studying at Greenwich University and living in South-East London. He has spent 20 years working in food retail and hospitality including running catering services and holding licencing positions.
Known for his love of…PINOT GRIGIO.
Leah Mynott
Front of House Manager, Personal Licence Holder
Leah is also part of the Governors team at the Sir John Falstaff and a personal licence holder, Leah has the same delegated authority around ensuring the best and safest environment possible. Leah is responsible for the day-to-day operations that our customers experience here at Sir John’s.
Leah is from Gravesend, Kent. Her oldest memories are of pubs, being a child of publicans. She has also worked in the trade “for just a few years” and held licencing and management positions in this time.
Hollie B. Laming-Davies
Landlady, Barker in Chief, Very Good Girl
Hollie was born in London, May 2024. Her mum is a pedigree Cane Corso with a long lineage and her father a Staffordshire Bull Terrier with kennel recorded ancestry. As such, she is a mongrel bitch with an attitude to match; she is no lady!
